India are currently busy playing the third Test in Indore against Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. But, the home side experienced a devastating batting collapse as they got bundled out for just 109 runs in their first innings. Now, regarding that performance, team India’s batting coach, Vikram Rathour opened up after the end of the play on day one.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and other batters failed miserably against the spinners of Australia. But, according to Rathour, it was just an off day for all batters. He also claimed that playing on spinning tracks is the strength of the Men in Blue. He suggested that the pitch was drier than it looked which took everyone by surprise.

“We prefer to play on turning tracks… this is one-off wicket.” - Vikram Rathour

While talking in the press conference, Vikram Rathour said: “It was an off day for our batting, no one played a rash shot for anything. This is how Rohit bats, he likes to take the bowlers on. Today it didn’t come off. These are challenging wickets but as a team we prefer to play on these wickets. Virat has looked really good.”

“We prefer to play on turning tracks… this is one-off wicket. Today was drier than we expected and it did a lot more," Rathour added. He further hailed the Australian spinners to outclass the spin trio of team India. He claimed that the Aussie spinners hit the right areas more often than India’s spinners.

“It felt like that (wicket easing out), it got a little slower than morning. They bowled really good areas in morning. They have the lead but they need to bat fourth. So we need to get them out soon and bat really well in our second innings," Vikram Rathour concluded. After bundling out India on 109 runs, Australia finished day one with a lead of 47 runs with six wickets in hand. But, hearing such comments, fans slammed team India’s batting coach and shared their views on the social media platform.
