Pakistan lost to England in the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 where they lost by five wickets end up as the runners-up. Just after the defeat of Pakistan in the final, the social media platform, Twitter got flooded once again with the exchange of taunts, sarcastic jibes, and heated statements from both sides.

It all started when senior Indian pacer Mohammed Shami went on to take a dig at Shoaib Akhtar’s tweet in the aftermath of Pakistan’s defeat against England in the final.
Shoaib Akhtar expressed his disappointment by tweeting only an emoji of a broken heart after the English team outplayed the men in green in the title clash. Indian pacer Mohammed took this tweet from Akhtar as an opportunity to settle down some grudges.
“Sorry brother, it’s call karma,” tweets Shami referring to what Shoaib said about the former on his selection in the Indian squad as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah.
Shami’s tweet drew a lot of reactions from both sides of the border. Meanwhile, former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi also looked disappointed in Mohammed Shami’s tweet in a response to Shoaib Akhtar.
“Aap current team se khel rahe ho….avoid karo in cheezo ko (You are playing from the current team….avoid these things),” said Afridi during a conversation on Samaa TV.

“See, we cricketers are ambassadors, we are like role models, and we always try that the strains between the two countries should end. In my opinion, there shouldn’t be such things that spread hatred,” he added later.

Later on, Afridi also talked about the prospective relations with India and the possibility of playing cricket with each other.
“We should build relationships and sports are something through which our relationships can get better for the good. We want to build relationships with them (India), we want to play (cricket) with them,” concluded the 2009 20-20 World Cup winner batter.
