Amidst a lean patch, Hyderabad's skipper Kane Williamson decided to demote himself and thus, it was Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma who opened the innings for the orange army. However, Sharma had to return to the pavilion rather early, as he was dismissed in just the third over.

Garg and Rahul Tripathi then added 79 runs together and took the attack to the opposition. Thus, Hyderabad scored 57 runs in the first six overs. Although Garg had to depart in the 10th over, Tripathi continued. The 31-year-old played an absolute gem of an innings, and showed a lot of intent. He went on to score a 44-ball 76. Nicholas Pooran played a handy cameo as he scored a 22-ball 38.

Thus, Hyderabad managed to score 193 in the first innings, and lost six wickets in the process. As for the second innings, Mumbai's openers started on a positive note. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan were looking really good. However, both failed to get to their respective half-centuries, and couldn't capitalize on their start.

It was Umran Malik who titled the game towards Hyderabad's favour as he bowled a fabulous spell. He went on to pick three wickets in three overs, while giving 23 runs.

Tim David hit some lusty blows to give the Mumbai fans a glimmer of hope. After hitting four sixes in the first five balls of the 18th over, he was run-out for an 18-ball 46 in the final ball of the over. This sealed the deal for Hyderabad, as they restricted Mumbai to 190-7. Several fans took to Twitter to post some hilarious memes.
