The ten teams know that the Indian Premier League is much more than a regular cricket competition. Franchises hold a special function to reveal the players' jerseys throughout the competition at the start of each season. This year was no different; one by one, at their internal events, each of the ten franchises unveiled their playing kits. Here are the ten jerseys of the 2023 season ranked.

The Sanjeev Goenka-owned squad used a low-rated greenish-blue colour shirt last season. Super Giants acknowledged the concerns and debuted a new colour scheme and design for their uniform this season. KL Rahul's team will have a dark blue uniform this year. Red and light blue stripes traverse the length of the shirt, from top to bottom. Several people did not like the outfit, and the series received criticism from fans. Since the new colour scheme makes the team logo on the left side difficult to see, many fans dislike this year's kit.

9. Rajasthan Royals

Due to the predominant colour scheme of its buildings, Jaipur is referred to as the "Pink City," and the same hue also dominates the team's uniform. Blue has also been utilised in the playing kit in addition to pink. The step-wells of Rajasthan (baori) inspired the new kit's step-well design. Fans of the team can take pride in their tradition when donning the shirt because the step-wells have been a part of Rajasthani culture for more than a thousand years. Rajasthan Royals came in second place last year after losing to Gujarat Giants in the championship game.

In March, the JSW-GMR co-owned squad unveiled their new kit. The previous season's blue and red colour scheme was kept, but significant design changes were made. For instance, the new jersey only has red on the shoulders, but the previous one also had it on the chest. The new kit's centre also has the Tiger from the emblem. With Rishabh Pant out for the full season, the Delhi Capitals will be captained by David Warner this year. Axar Patel has been elevated to the position of team vice-captain.

7. Chennai Super Kings

One of the most successful teams in IPL history, Chennai Super Kings, doesn't like experimenting too much with their equipment. They were among the few teams who maintained their colour scheme from the beginning of the competition. The MS Dhoni-led club will return to the Chepauk in yellow this season. The team's jersey this year hasn't changed all that much; the same design and colour have been used. After only four victories at the end of the previous campaign, Chennai Super Kings missed the playoffs for the second time since the Indian Premier League's start.

6. Punjab Kings

To establish their new identity, Punjab Kings changed their name from Kings XI Punjab in 2021 and added red and gold to their emblem and kit. The squad has largely succeeded in keeping the same colour over the years. The basic colour of the shirt is red, and golden accents may be seen on the shoulder, collar, and sides of the jersey. The team's new coach is Trevor Bayliss, while Shikhar Dhawan has been named the new captain.

5. Mumbai Indians

Since the beginning of the season, the Mumbai Indians' shirt has been officially blue. Although they have played around with the colours throughout time, the primary colour has not changed. The team's jersey from last year has undergone a few minor adjustments for this campaign. The icons of Mumbai, the city of dreams, were included in the shirt's design. The centre of the jersey has graphics for the Arabian Sea, Kali Peeli Taxi, Gateway of India, and Sea Links. The outfit's side also uses the colour gold, representing the jubilation on Mumbai's streets.

4. Sunrisers Hyderabad

The team used a picture shoot with Mayank Agarwal, Umran Malik, and Washington Sundar to debut their new jersey on Twitter. During the captains' meeting before the start of the 16th season of the IPL, Bhuvneshwar Kumar wore the identical jersey. Sunrisers Hyderabad, like other teams, has kept the actual colours of orange and black from their kit from the previous season.

3. Kolkata Knight Riders

The two-time winners have worn purple and gold shirts over the years. The Kolkata Knight Riders will again wear a uniform dominated by these two hues this season. Only the primary sponsor in the kit's centre has changed; the remainder remains the same as the previous year. The squad now has MyFab11 as its official sponsor. On Saturday in Mohali, Kolkata Knight Riders will play their inaugural match against Punjab Kings. They have chosen Nitish Rana as their captain because they will be without Shreyas Iyer for the first several rounds of the competition.

2. Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans won the championship after defeating Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in their inaugural season. The dark blue jersey the Titans wore was regarded as one of the best among those worn by the 10 teams. They haven't made many changes to their kit for this season; the style is still the same. Nonetheless, the Titans have put a star on the top of their emblem, signifying their championship victory from the previous campaign.

1. Royal Challengers Bangalore

Over the years, the Bangalore-based team has conducted some of the best experiments with its shirt. Royal Challengers Bangalore was the first team to use distinct uniforms for home and away matches in 2016. As part of their "Go Green" campaign, they customarily wear green jerseys once a season. This season, the team will wear the same red and black colour scheme as last.
