Dinesh Karthik was awarded the Player of the Match for his stupendous 19-ball-41-run knock. The Indian bowlers tightened the noose on the West Indian batters as they struggled throughout the chase and never got going. Having been whitewashed in the ODI series as well, the West Indies team will be looking for an emphatic comeback to level the series in the second match.
Playing conditions and predicted playing XIs of both the teams
India
India had one of the most complete performances in the first match. They tried a new opening pair of Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma. The Indian innings seemed to be struggling at one stage as no one except Rohit Sharma stayed for long at the crease. Thanks to the pyrotechnics by Dinesh Karthik which helped India in the end. The visitors finally posted a total of 190 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Indian middle order would like to work on their performance and come harder in the second game. On the bowling front, India had a great day and the bowlers will look to replicate their immaculate performance on Monday.

West Indies
West Indies had a forgettable day in the first match. They didn’t look potent enough in any aspect of the match.
