India announce squad for the Asia Cup 2022, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli back in the team.

The selectors have announced the squad of India for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 which is commencing on the 27^th of August later at the end of this month. The men in blue will start their campaign with the Group B match against the arch-rivals Pakistan on the 28^th of August, the next day of the inaugural match.

In a good piece of news for the Indian fans, former skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli is back into the squad after a rest of one month from international cricket. Apart from this, there have been few changes in the squad for the continental tournament.

Finally, Indian fans have heaved a sigh of relief as the senior batter KL Rahul is back in the squad alongside former skipper Virat Kohli. Other than this, the young pacer Arshdeep Singh has also secured his berth for this major multi-team continental tournament. Notably, Arshdeep is continuously impressing the selectors with his stellar performance in T20I cricket since his debut.

The 23-year-old has replaced the senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the squad. He will be playing for the first time in any big tournament for the Indian team. The selectors have selected three pacers in the squad including the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, and Avesh Khan.

Speaking of the line-up, then there are two specialist spinners in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi. Whereas great spin all-rounders of India, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja will also be a part of the squad in the tournament.

There are a few changes in the batting order as KL Rahul and Virat Kohli are back in the squad. So, India has decided to go ahead with six specialist batters alongside star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. The men in blue will have three wicketkeeper-batters in the squad.

Recently, the Indian team defeated the West Indies in the five-match T20I series with a score line of 4-1.  But, there is a difference between the squad of this T20I series and the one that is selected for the Asia Cup 2022.
