Although, a controversy happened to ignite just before the commencement of this high-octane clash of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Indian Cricket Board’s secretary Jay Shah came with a statement that the Indian side will not travel to Pakistan for the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup in 2023. He also suggested that the tournament can be played at a neutral venue where India and Pakistan take on each other.

Here's the update

In a recent development of events, the media reports have learned that there are chances of a tri-nation series which might include India and Pakistan having Australia as the third team in the series.

In a recent development of events, the media reports have learned that there are chances of a tri-nation series which might include India and Pakistan having Australia as the third team in the series. And if this scenario does not fall in place then there are also the assumptions that both arch-rivals India and Pakistan can face each other in a Test match which might be held in Australia.

Although the official announcement or any sort of confirmation is still awaited from both cricket boards. Discussing a bit more about the ongoing controversy, Jay Shah has denied all possibilities of India’s tour to Pakistan to play the 16th edition of the continental tournament scheduled in Pakistan.

Notably, the socio-political rifts between both countries have brought both of them to a stage where they are not allowed to travel to each other’s soil. Following the remarks from Jay Shah, the Indian Cricket Board has now fallen prey to criticism from the Pakistan cricket fans and former greats who played for the men in green.
