Former legendary Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has come up with a request from the former Indian skipper and contemporary batting legend Virat Kohli. He has requested Kohli to retire from the T20I cricket following his memorable knock in India’s tournament opener of the 20-20 World Cup 2022.

Notably, the 33-year-old Indian veteran Indian has been a batter who is dominating all three formats of the game with the same intensity. And it’s very hard to find even a second batter other than Kohli who is this much consistent across all the formats of the game.

Recently, Kohli scored the knock of his life against the arch-rivals Pakistan at MCG in Melbourne. Rescuing India from 31/4 to an unforgettable win by four wickets, Virat smashed an outstanding knock of 82 runs off 53 balls.

Coming back to Shoaib Akhtar, the Rawalpindi express has recently claimed that Kohli could’ve used the same amount of energy to score 3 centuries in the 50-over format.

I don't want that he puts his entire energy into T20I cricket - Shoaib Akhtar on Virat Kohli

"He is back with a bang. I want him to retire from T20I because I don't want that he puts his entire energy into T20I cricket. With similar commitment like today, he can score three centuries in ODIs," said Akhtar in a video on his YouTube Channel.

Akhtar also talked about the intensity of the heat during the match between India and Pakistan while making a prediction that both teams will lock horns again in the final.

“Pakistan has done marvelously well. Don't be down, you all really played well. India did really well... they won one of the best matches in history. It was a complete World Cup match,” he added later.

"It had everything- dropped catch, run-out, no-ball, controversies, stumping," Akhtar said on his YouTube channel. "World Cup has just started, World Cup begins only when India-Pakistan plays, and the two teams will face off again. Pakistan will see India again, later in this World Cup," concluded Akhtar.
