Indian team’s preparations for the 20-20 World Cup have encountered a major blow as the senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the marquee tournament. The 28-year-old has reportedly sustained a stress fracture in the back. The sudden exclusion of Bumrah has left the selectors worried about the like-t0-like replacement for him for the mission Melbourne.

The Sambhal-born young lad Mohsin Khan has emerged as one of the favorite picks among Indian cricket fans. Other than him, there are also speculations that the senior pacer Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj might replace Bumrah in the World Cup. Notably, the management has picked Siraj in the squad for the ongoing T20I series against South Africa.

But apart from that, some Indian cricket fans have urged the management and selectors to pick Mohsin in the squad as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah. They took to Twitter for backing the youngster.

Mohsin Khan impressed everyone with his stellar performances in the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League. He played for the new entrants Lucknow and scalped 14 wickets in nine matches for his team. He bowled in the tournament with an exceptional economy rate of 5.96.

The left-arm quick has shown his excellence with the new ball in the domestic circuit of Indian cricket. Speaking of his domestic career, then Mohsin has played 35 T20s and scalped 47 wickets with a very fine economy rate of 6.78. He recorded his best figures in domestic cricket as 4/16.

Mohsin can provide good strength to the men in blue in the powerplay overs with the new ball. Whereas he can also show a bit of his excellence in the death overs as well.

Currently, the Indian team is in action during the ongoing three-match T20I series against South Africa. They won the first match of the series by a massive margin of eight wickets to take a lead of 1-0.
