Singh was supposed to feature in the Legends League Cricket (LLC), and was a member of the India Maharajas squad as well. This tournament kickstarted from January 20, and includes three teams fighting out. However, the former spinner won't be able to participate in the tournament now.

India has seen a surge in the number of cases of late. Due to the imminent threat of the Omircron variant, things haven't really been too stable in the country. Thus, this is one of the main reasons why the BCCI plans on conducting India's home series against the West Indies in just two venues.

In the meanwhile, Singh had recently announced his retirement, and ended his 23-year-long career. He picked 711 wickets in international cricket and was last seen playing for India in 2016. The former Indian bowler has been a regular feature in the Indian Premier League. The teams he has played for are Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
