Former Indian skipper and ace batter Virat Kohli is set to make a comeback after a rest of over one month from international cricket. He will be in action for India in the first match of their campaign in the Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan. Notably, he is enduring a poor run of form with the bat for the last couple of years. The senior right-hander is struggling for an international century since the last one he scored against Bangladesh in a Test match back in 2019.
Recently, former veteran Indian skipper and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has come up with advice to Virat Kohli ahead of India’s clash with Pakistan in the tournament. He said Kohli should become ‘selfish’ in the tournament to gain his form back in international cricket.
It's not possible that players of his stature can't have such a long lean patch - Sourav Ganguly on Virat Kohli
“He needs to score runs not only for India but for himself. Hopefully, it will be a good season for him. We all are confident that he'll come back,” said Ganguly in his statement during a conversation with PTI.
Virat Kohli needs to score runs not only for India but for himself: Sourav Ganguly

"He's a very big player, there for a long time. I know he has his own formula to score runs. It's not possible that players of his stature can't have such a long lean patch, I know he will definitely score runs. If he was not a great player, he would not have scored so many runs for so long," he added later.
Although, the statement from Sourav Ganguly didn’t go down well with the Indian cricket fans. They took no time to make fun of his statement and reminded his career to him as well.
Sourav has forgotten his own playing career!!!

Coming back to Kohli, then he has also failed in the recent bilateral clashes he played for India. He couldn’t score even a half-century during the series against England. Now, this tournament is going to be very crucial for him to maintain his spot and secure a berth in the plans of management for the upcoming T20 World in 2022 and next year’s ODI World Cup as well.
