Batting first, the Three Lions looked like recovering well from early jolts at 149/4. In reply, the Men In Blue were tottering at 72/4, having lost the wickets of Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav. Meanwhile, a partnership of 133 runs from Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant helped the team get close to the target. Pandya scored 71 runs while Pant scored his maiden ODI hundred. The latter stayed till the end and hit the winning runs. After the game, when both teams were exchanging handshakes, something different happened.

Apparently, English opening batter Jonny Bairstow went on to give a warm hug. The image is going viral across social media. A lot of Indian fans praised the Englishman and spoke about the good sportsman spirit. Meanwhile, this was India's first ODI series win in the UK since 2014. At that time, the MS Dhoni-led side thrashed Alastair Cook's men by 3-1 in the five-match series. In the last series played between the two teams in the European country, the hosts won by 2-1.

Meanwhile, talking about Bairstow, he wasn't able to carry his Test form in the 50-over game. In the three games played recently, he couldn't score a fifty in any of the games. The 2019 World Cup winner will get a new opportunity in the ODI series against South Africa starting July 19. The series will also see the end of Ben Stokes as an ODI player.
