In a major blow for the Australian team, senior all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against England starting next week. The Melbourne-born veteran all-rounder will have to through a bit of hard and tough rehabilitation due to a fracture in his left calf bone. ‘

Notably, Maxwell was attending an individual’s 50th birthday and the Australian cricketer was running with the former in the backyard. Subsequently, the Bangalore all-rounder in Indian T20 League happened to slip and fall down.

The sources close to Maxwell understand that his leg struck with another individual, who must be a friend of the senior Australian all-rounder. It eventually led to the fall of both Maxwell and the birthday guy.

Former Australian ODI skipper and selection chief George Bailey has also talked about Glenn’s injury. He also mentioned if the latter would be available for further assignments or not.

In a developing line of events, the 30-year-old New South Wales all-rounder Sean Abbot is set to replace Glenn Maxwell in the Aussie squad for the three-match ODI series against England.

19th of November – 2nd ODI

22nd of November – 3rd ODI

Speaking of Australia’s outing in the 2022 edition of the 20-20 World Cup, they were placed in the Group 1 having England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Ireland as the other five teams. Aaron Finch & co. was eliminated from the super-12 round of the tournament.
