India and Australia are currently clashing against each other in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final at the Oval. India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first, however, his decision proved wrong as the Australian batters amassed a total of 469 runs in the first innings with the help of brilliant centuries from Steve Smith and Travis Head.

Meanwhile, an image is getting viral on social media in which Indian allrounder Ravichandran Ashwin and Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne were spotted talking with each other in the dugout. Interestingly, Labuschagne is the no. 1 Test batter, while Ashwin is the no. 1 Test bowler but Ashwin was dropped from the squad and was warming the bench, considering the overcast conditions but it didn’t really help the team and fans trolled this decision of the Indian team management.

Many fans were shocked when Rohit announced that Ashwin isn’t included in the squad as despite being one of the greatest off-spinner, he still couldn’t make it to the playing XI. India decided to go with an extra pacer, which is probably Umesh Yadav, who didn’t get any help from the pitch and went wicketless.

Coming back to the match, after wrapping up the Australian team on the score of 469 runs, Indian openers Shubman Gill and Rohit gave a confidential start to the innings. But that didn’t last too long as Australian skipper Pat Cummins got Rohit LBW on the score of just 15 runs. After this, the Men in Blue started losing wickets at regular intervals of time.

At the end of day 2, India managed to score 151 runs after losing 5 wickets, with Ajinkya Rahane and KS Bharat in the middle. India is still behind 318 runs and they will try to get close to the target to avoid the big trail, however, first they have to avoid the follow-on. Upcoming batters like Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Shami can smash some big shots which will definitely help them to avoid the follow-on.
