The Indian team was eliminated in the group rounds of the T20 World Cup in 2021. But, under the guidance of opener Rohit Sharma, India has been revitalised and is yet to lose a series. As India prepares for the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year, these are the players that should be in the Indian team for the event.

Deepak Hooda was taken up by Lucknow in the Indian T20 League 2022 after a successful domestic performance. He had his most productive season in the tournament, scoring 451 runs at a 32.21 average.

His efforts earned him a recall to the national squad, which he seized with both hands, scoring 47*, 104, and 33 runs in three games against Ireland and England. The power hitter is in top form and should be included in the T20I team for the upcoming World Cup.

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh, a pacer from Punjab, played for the Punjab side in the Indian T20 League 2022, where he had a memorable season. His long-awaited T20I debut for India came in the first match of a three-match series against England in Southampton.

He had a brilliant start to his international career as he troubled the batters with his swing. In his first over for the Indian team, he delivered a spectacular maiden. India has been blessed with several excellent fast bowlers in recent years, but Arshdeep brings a new dimension to the team since India has not had a quality left-arm pacer in quite some time.

Ravichandran Ashwin

Veteran cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin is no longer a regular feature in India's shortest format team. The off-spinner played in the United Arab Emirates for the 2021 T20 World Cup, but he is doubtful of being picked for the 2022 edition.

With 61 wickets for the Indian team in T20Is at an economy of less than seven runs per over, Ashwin is a proven match-winner, and India may need someone with his intelligence and experience to help them overcome difficult situations in the forthcoming T20 World Cup.

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami leads India's Test bowling attack, which is now one of the most effective in the world. However, the Indian bowler has not been part of the T20I setup since the T20 World Cup last year. His omission from the team has come as a surprise to many.

Shami did not do well in the ICC tournament last year, but he tried to redeem himself with an outstanding Indian T20 League 2022 season. He might be crucial to the team's success in the all-important competition in Australia as well.

Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav had a prolific run with the ball in the Indian T20 League 2022. He had been warming the benches for a while, but Delhi gave him the opportunity to shine. He grabbed 21 wickets in 14 matches, making it his best-ever season in the tournament.

With an amazing strike rate of 12.5, the leg spinner has taken 41 wickets in 24 T20I appearances. India should consider the spinner as a potential match-winner, and his reunion with leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal might be beneficial to the Men in Blue.
