Be it injuries or personal concerns, the Indian T20 league has seen several instances where players have had to miss an entire season. This tends to dent the team plans. However, franchises can always announce a replacement. Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and bio-bubble fatigue, it might not be surprising if unsold players are announced as replacements for players who have to skip the 2022 edition.

Besides, like Jason Roy, a few other players might pull out of the upcoming season, or like Deepak Chahar, an injury might rule them out of the tournament. Thus, there are a few bowlers who went unsold but could join any of the teams as a replacement.

So which are the bowlers who could make a comeback to the biggest T20 league in the world? Today, we shall be taking a look at five bowlers who can come in as replacement signings.

1) Ishant Sharma:

Ishant Sharma is one of the most experienced Indian pacers. Despite not being a premier T20 bowler, he can be handy with the new ball. Teams could use him as a powerplay specialist, and make him bowl in the first six overs of the innings.

He last played for Delhi in 2021. Sharma has played 93 games in the Indian T20 league and has picked 72 wickets at an average of 37.51. Besides, his economy rate is 8.11, which is decent in this format of the game.

2) S Sreesanth:

S Sreesanth has managed to overcome all the controversies in his life and is rearing to get on the field. He has shown his eagerness to return to the toughest 20 during several interviews of late. Besides, he had even registered for the mega auction for the 2022 edition.

After making a comeback to professional cricket in 2020, he was seen playing several domestic tournaments as well. As far as his record in the Indian T20 league goes, Sreesanth has taken 40 wickets in 44 games at an average of 29.9. Taking his enthusiasm into account, it doesn't look like the Kerala pacer would disappoint if given a chance.

3) Amit Mishra:

Amit Mishra is an absolute legend when it comes to the Indian T20 league. As a matter of fact, it wouldn't be an overstatement to call him one of the greatest bowlers in the history of the league. The leggie has picked the third-most number of wickets in the history of the Indian T20 league.

As far as spinners go, he leads the charts. Thus, he could certainly be one of the first bowlers to be signed as a replacement. Besides, if given a chance, he can still win games.

4) Andrew Tye:

At his peak, Andrew Tye was one of the best T20 bowlers. Despite not being at his best during the last few editions of the Indian T20 league, the Aussie can still prove to be a good replacement option. The fact that he is a good death bowler helps him make a strong case for himself.

Besides, he won the Purple Cap during the 2018 edition. An important point to be noted is that he was absolutely sensational in the Big Bash League 2021-22. He was the third-highest wicket-taker and picked 25 wickets in 16 games.

5) Adam Zampa:

Adam Zampa is unarguably one of the best white-ball spinners of this era. In fact, he was one of the best bowlers during the 20-20 World Cup 2021 and played an influential role in Australia winning their maiden T20 WC. Be it bowling economical overs or picking wickets, he could do both.

Besides, his record in the Indian T20 league is fairly decent, to say the least. In the 14 games in which he has played, the Aussie has picked 21 wickets at an economy rate of 7.74. This includes a six-fer as well.
