'Every head must bow' - Twitter applauds Australia for winning their seventh Women's World Cup

Australia won their seventh Women's World Cup as they went on to create history at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch on Sunday. They were simply too good for England as they outplayed them in all departments. As a matter of fact, they continued their dominant brand of cricket in the Women's World Cup 2022 Final as well.

After being asked to bat first, Australia's top-order showed no mercy. They took the aggressive route from ball one and never looked back since then. Alyssa Healy in particular played an unreal knock. It was one of the greatest knocks of all time. She went on to score a brilliant 170 off just 138 deliveries. This included as many as 26 boundaries.

The keeper-batter was well supported by Rachael Haynes and Beth Mooney, who scored their respective half-centuries as well. The Aussies got to a humongous total of 356 in the first innings. This reminded the fans of the Men's 2003 WC Final between India and Australia.

Although the Meg Lanning-led side seemed all set to win, England weren't going to go down without a fight. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Natalie Sciver stood strong and tried her best to achieve the impossible. She scored an unbeaten 148 off 121 balls. In the process, she salvaged some pride for her side as well.

Having said that, Australia were simply too good for the Heather Knight-led side as they bundled them for 285. Thus, Australia won the grand finale by 71 runs. As far as Australia's bowlers are concerned, then Jess Jonassen and Alana King took three wickets each. After winning the game, the players started to wander off the field and started to celebrate this historic moment. It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that this is one of the greatest sides to have won a WC. Fans took to Twitter to speak about Australia's title-winning campaign, and were quick to congratulate them for the same.
