Indian cricket team's young wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is currently recovering from his injuries which he sustained during a horrific car accident in December last year. However, Pant is recovering quickly from his injuries and was also recently seen supporting his Indian Premier League team Delhi Capitals (DC).
However, at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, aspiring Under-16 players took some great tips from Pant. In the midst of rehabilitating from the injuries, Pant participated in a session with the aspiring athletes. The Indian Cricket shared a picture where Pant can be seen having a conversation with the kids.
"The boys who are part of the Under-16 high-performance camp at NCA Bangalore had the opportunity to interact with Rishabh Pant on cricket, life, hard work, and much much more. It was very generous of Rishabh Pant to spare time for interacting with these young boys," the Indian Cricket board tweeted on Tuesday morning, 9 May.
Pant's brilliant records in Test cricket
Pant captains DC in IPL and they have felt the impact of his absence the most. India will also feel the impact of his absence in the numerous important Test and ODI matches they play later this year, beginning with the Test Championship final against Australia in June. However, in a recent Instagram post, Pant demonstrated how ready he is to begin walking without support by acting out the removal of his crutches.
Despite his propensity to bat aggressively, Pant has been particularly successful in Test matches. In 33 games, Pant has amassed 2271 runs at an average of 43.67, with five centuries and 11 half-centuries. Additionally, Pant has an ODI century and 865 runs at an average of 34.60 in 30 games.
Before his accident, Pant had remarkably struggled to establish himself in T20Is, scoring 987 runs in 66 games at an average of 22.43 and a strike rate of just 126.37. Pant has scored 2838 runs in the IPL with one century and 15 half-centuries, a strike rate of 147.97, and an average of 34.61.
