The 26th match of the Indian Premier League is being played between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday, April 19. The Sanju Samson-led team returned to Jaipur after nearly four years. The 2008 champions are already sitting on top of the points table and will look to make their position stronger by defeating LSG.

Meanwhile, LSG skipper KL Rahul is not having his good days in the cash-rich league as he didn’t look in great touch in the season so far. However, in his last appearance which was against PBKS, the right-handed opener scored 74 runs and many thought that he has got his form back but that didn’t happen as against RR, he was seen struggling again and departed after scoring 39 runs off 32 balls.

Poor fielding display by RR

In the fourth over of the LSG innings, RR had a great chance to get rid of Rahul. Rahul went down to play the cover drive towards extra cover, where Yashasvi Jaiswal laid down an easy chance after RR bowler Sandeep Sharma bowled a full delivery on the off stump. Rahul was again dropped a few overs later, in the sixth over, this time by Jason Holder who was sprinting back from mid-off. Rahul mistimed his shot while attempting to loft over mid-off, but he eventually survived a second fright thanks to Holder getting the ball down.

In addition to the missed opportunities, RR also had a missed run-out opportunity. When Rahul was initially dropped, he was facing Sandeep in the same over and had just hit extra cover when he went off for a single. Jaiswal attempted a diving throw at the bowler's end, but he was again unsuccessful this time. Had Jaiswal completed the direct hit, things would have been quite different because Rahul wasn't even near the crease. However, later, Holder ultimately dismissed Rahul for 39. Jos Buttler caught Rahul at long-on.
