Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni has always shared a great bond between them since their playing days together for team India. Dhoni showed a lot of faith in him during his younger days and it was instrumental in Kohli’s rise throughout his career. On the other hand, Kohli has enjoyed another great bond with the former Protea batter, AB de Villiers.

They both played for the Bangalore franchise for 11 years in the Indian T20 League. Fans also know the bromance they share and how fondly they acknowledge each other for their achievements. Now, on 21 March, de Villiers interviewed the former team India skipper on his official YouTube channel ‘Three Sixty’.

Here is the shared tweet:

“I saw first-hand close up how brilliant he is and I was astonished.” - Virat Kohli on AB de Villiers

During that interview, Virat Kohli claimed that MS Dhoni was the quickest runner between the wickets after AB de Villiers. It meant that he claimed Dhoni to be the second-best after the former protea batter. Listening to that fans did not like it and they slammed Kohli on the social media platform. However, in an interview earlier, Kohli opened up about his time with de Villiers for the Bangalore franchise. He said: “I've played for 11 years with AB de Villiers whereas seven with Chris Gayle. Both the journeys started in 2011 which for me will be the most special year. I met both of you in 2011, I started playing with both of you and RCB got to experience the brilliance of both you guys for so many years".

"I remember a few memories of playing together which always stands out for me. With AB, they are from the 2016 seasons, both against Gujarat, where in one game we had that massive partnership together which was amazing. I saw first-hand close up how brilliant he is and I was astonished. I couldn't believe what I had seen. The second memory is when we were struggling the same year and AB took us home,” Virat Kohli further added.
