Just after the announcement of the Indian squad for the 20-20 World Cup, the internet has divided into multiple opinions and reactions. Some are satisfied with the selected squad, while a few others are not happy with the few additions and omissions by the Indian selectors. Both fans and experts are included in expressing their opinions about the team selection by discussing various points of view.

Many cricket experts and fans are quite shocked as the selectors ignored the senior pace bowler Mohammed Shami from the squad. Some of the experts opined that going in the 20-20 World Cup without Shami can be a barrier to India’s World Cup campaign.

Demanding the selection of our favorite player as a fan is something that can be acknowledged. But few people come up with completely illogical things to gain cheap publicity without having mere knowledge of cricket.

A similar has happened recently when a Congress MLA from the Bahadurganj Assembly of Bihar tried to give religious color to the game of cricket for becoming popular among his followers. He wrote on his Facebook wall that he was shocked to see that Indian selectors are discriminating against Muslim players like Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Khaleel Ahmed while picking the squad.

I will not watch cricket till a fair selection process is put in place - Tauseef Alam

“I will not watch cricket till a fair selection process is put in place. Today, I am amazed how the selectors ignored players like (Mohammed) Shami, (Mohammed) Siraj, and Khaleel Ahmed for the T20 World Cup,” wrote Alam in his post, written in Hindi.

The inclusion of Khaleel Ahmed in his argument gives a clear-cut reflection that he only wants to do politics and a zero knowledge of cricket. It can be said that Khaleel Ahmed is not in the Indian team for a very long period and still congress leader found him eligible to be a part of the squad for the 20-20 World Cup.
