'Century-century hoti hai' - Fans ecstatic as Shubman Gill smashes his second ODI century in 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka

Young Indian opener Shubman Gill stunned everyone with his amazing century knock against Sri Lanka. Both teams are playing the third and last of the three-match ODI series against each other. The hosts’ skipper Rohit Sharma won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first and they got a strong foundation of 95 runs for the first wicket.

Coming back to Shubman Gill, the 23-year-old played an outstanding knock of 116 runs off 97 balls with 14 boundaries and two sixes to his name. Notably, it is also the second ODI century for the Fazilka right-hander batter in his international cricketing career.

The Indian cricket fans were also overwhelmed by the performance of the youngster. They took to Twitter to lavish the praises on Shubman for his batting excellence in the dead rubber of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Speaking of the match so far, the Indian team has lost the wickets of both openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill and scored 263 runs for the loss of two wickets in 38.4 overs. After completing his century, Shubman Gill has fallen prey to Kasun Rajitha in the 34th over of the innings. Gill scored 116 runs.

Shubman Gill and Shubman Gill stitched a partnership of 131 runs for the second wicket. Currently, Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli are there in the middle with individual scores of 18 and 76 runs respectively.

Kasun Rajitha and Chamika Karunaratne have scalped one wicket each for Sri Lanka in the first innings.

The men in blue have already taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match ODI series against the Islanders. Now, Rohit Sharma’s men will be eyeing to win the series by a clean sweep margin after securing a victory in the third and last of the three-match ODI series.
