The Indian Cricket Board recently announced the best performers of team India for the calendar year of 2022 across all the formats of the game. The star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant and senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah was named as the best performers of red-ball cricket for India last year.

Whereas the two players who topped the chart in ODI are number-four batter Shreyas Iyer and star pacer Mohammed Siraj. They both have shown their excellence in the 50-overs format in their respective disciplines with bat and ball.

Speaking of the quickest format of the game, Indian Cricket picked two players, out of those, one name has made it to the headlines immediately after the announcement of the Indian squad for the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka starting on Tuesday, the 3rd of January.

The first name in the list of top performers of T20I cricket was Suryakumar Yadav who amassed two outstanding centuries in the format against England and New Zealand respectively. The other name was none other than the veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar who scalped 37 wickets in 32 T20I appearances.

But surprisingly, even after being the best T20I performer of the year, Bhuvi is not a part of the T20I squad selected for the home T20I series against Sri Lanka. This move from the Indian Cricket Board didn’t go down well with the Indian Cricket Fans and they did not late in slamming the authorities for being unprofessional while picking the team for an international series.

Here's how fans reacted:

Talking about the setup of the Indian team for the T20I series against Sri Lanka, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead the team in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma. Whereas the former skipper and veteran batter Virat Kohli will also miss this assignment against the Islanders.

Following the conclusion of the T20I series against Sri Lanka, the hosts will lock horns against the former in the ODI series having the same number of matches.
