One of the major reasons behind their successful run has been Yuzvendra Chahal. The leggie has been in the form of his life. So far in the 2022 edition, he has picked 24 wickets in 13 games at an average of 16.83. As a matter of fact, he is currently the leading wicket-taker of the 2022 edition as well. However, he has been superb off the field as well.

Time and again, he has entertained the fans with his jokes about opening the batting alongside Jos Buttler. There have been numerous occasions this season where Chahal has engaged in playful banter with the Englishman, with respect to batting up the order. Recently, he jokingly stated that he can go on to break Virat Kohli's record of most runs scored in an edition. He said that he could do the same in just 10 matches.

“If I had a chance to open – Then I would have broken every record, not just Jos Buttler. I think even Virat Kohli bhaiya’s record <973 runs> is left for me only. I’m going to break that record. I will break that record in 10 matches only because in every match I have to score a hundred, no? (laughs),” said Yuzvendra Chahal, while speaking to ESPNcricinfo on Polite Enquiries.

In the meanwhile, Jos Buttler had a realistic chance of breaking Kohli's record as he was scoring runs for fun this season. However, he has failed to score the big runs in the last few matches. Nevertheless, he is still the highest run-scorer of the 2022 edition. As of now, he has scored 627 runs in 13 games at an average of 52.25.

The Rajasthan-based franchise are scheduled to face Chennai on May 20. As for Kohli, the 33-year-old has been having a torrid time of late, while playing for Bangalore. The 15th edition of the league keeps getting worse for him. Kohli has only been able to score 236 runs in 13 games at an average of 19.67. This includes three golden ducks as well.
