The Indian T20 League from its very advent has brought some legends of cricket on board. All the players have graced the tournament with their brilliant performances over the year.

The Indian T20 League has been very kind to young talents who have seen the limelight because of their performances in the tournament. But, as the game is sometimes known to be unfair to its biggest legends, some of the superstars did not get their hands on the prized trophy.

Here is a team of cricket legends who played in the Indian T20 League but never won it

1. Virender Sehwag: It was Sehwag’s daily routine to come to the crease and smash the bowlers to all parts of the ground. Sehwag has played in Indian T20 League for Delhi and Punjab. He has played in 104 Indian T20 League matches where he has scored 2728 runs at an average of 27.55. His strike rate in the Indian T20 League is 155.44 and has scored 2 centuries and 16 half-centuries during his playing time in the league. Despite his amazing career, Viru never got his hand on the Indian T20 League trophy.

2. Chris Gayle (Overseas): Gayle has played for Kolkata, Bangalore and Punjab in the Indian T20 league. In 142 Indian T20 League matches, Gayle has scored 4965 runs at an average of 39.72 and at a strike rate of 148.96. His 175 runs in one inning still remain the highest individual score in an inning. Despite having plenty of T20 as well as Indian T20 League records under his belt, Gayle is yet to win the Trophy once.

3. Ajinkya Rahane: He has played for Mumbai, Rajasthan and Pune in the Indian T20 League. Rahane has played 151 matches in the Indian T20 League, in which he scored 3941 runs at an average of 31.52 and a strike rate of 121.33. He also has 2 centuries in the Indian T20 League but is yet to win the trophy.

4. Virat Kohli (Captain): Arguably the best batsman in the modern cricketing world, Virat Kohli has been a part of the Bangalore team. He has played 207 matches in the Indian T20 League, scoring 6283 runs. He has an average of 37.39 and a strike rate of 129.94 in the Indian T20 League with 5 centuries. In spite of appearing in three Indian T20 League finals, Kohli is still to win the trophy.

5. AB de Villiers (Overseas): Also known as Mr.360 degree, De Villiers has played 184 Indian T20 League matches. In these matches, he has scored 5162 runs at an average of 39.70 with a strike rate of 151.68, including 3 centuries to his name. ABD has played for Delhi and Bangalore in the Indian T20 league but has not won the title with either of the teams.

6. Rishabh Pant (Wicket- Keeper): In a still-young career, Pant has played 84 matches in the Indian T20 League. He has scored 2498 runs at an average of 35.18 and a strike rate of 147.46. with 1 century and 15 half-centuries. Pant plays for Delhi and in the six seasons he has played in, he is still to win the Indian T20 League trophy.

All Rounder

7. Chris Morris (Overseas): Chris Morris has played 81 matches, scoring 615 runs and picking up 95 wickets in them. Morris has shifted a few teams in the Indian T20 League over 8 seasons but has not won the trophy till now.

Spinners

8. Anil Kumble: The Indian Leg-spinner is the highest wicket-taker in Test for his nation. Kumble also led Bangalore to the final in Indian T20 League 2009 but failed to win the trophy. He played in 42 Indian T20 League matches, picking 45 wickets at an average of 23.51 and an economy rate of 6.58.

9. Amit Mishra: Mishra is the third-highest wicket-taker in the history of the Indian T20 League, but has never won the trophy. Mishra has 166 wickets from 154 Indian T20 League matches.

Fast Bowlers

10. Mohammad Shami: Shami is a regular and a very important part of the Indian National setup at present. But he is still to win an Indian T20 League trophy. He has 79 wickets from 79 matches at an average of 30.40 in the Indian T20 League.

11. Dale Steyn (Overseas): Steyn has played for Hyderabad, Gujarat and Bangalore in Indian T20 League, without winning the trophy for any of them. He has 96 wickets in 92 Indian T20 league matches.
