India and Zimbabwe locked horns in their last super-12 match of the 20-20 World Cup. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. Batting first, the Indians posted a total of 186 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, Zimbabwe could manage to score only 115 runs and lost all 10 wickets. With this win against Zimbabwe, The men in blue have finished the Group 2 points table with having a top spot to their name.

Furthermore, talking about the match, senior opener KL Rahul played a foundational knock of 51 runs off 35 balls with three boundaries and three sixes to his name. KL’s knock was followed by the mind-blowing batting display from Suryakumar Yadav who smashed 61 runs off just 35 balls with six boundaries and four sixes to his name.

Riding on these knocks, the men in blue posted a total of 186 runs for the loss of five wickets in the first innings. Sean Williams was the only bowler of Zimbabwe to scalp two wickets. He conceded only nine runs to pick these wickets in his two overs.

While chasing the target, star all-rounder Sikander Raza and Sean Williams were the only individuals who showed some intent against the Indian bowling attack. He played a struggling knock of 34 runs off 24 balls with three boundaries to his name. Whereas Sean Williams scored 35 runs off 22 balls with five boundaries and a six to his name. The Indian bowling lineup bundled up the Zimbabweans at the score of 115 runs.
