The upcoming T20I series between Australia and Sri Lanka have had some changes owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, according to a report by the West Australian, Cricket Australia confirmed the change of venues on Wednesday. Initially, the SCG was due to host the first game before the Gabba, Metricon Stadium, Adelaide Oval and the MCG followed. With the change being put into force, SCG will now host the first two matches on February 11 and 13.

The third T20I is to be played in Canberra on February 15, and the final two at the MCG on February 18 and 20. In the meanwhile, due to the COVID-19 restrictions and such short notice of postponement, CA didn't have a backup option to organise replacement fixtures for the game which have been postponed.

Australia and Australia A would be a bit of fun: Matthew Wade

The ODI series between Australia and New Zealand got postponed due to COVID-19. Some suggested that a series between Australia and Australia A could be arranged in the meanwhile. Australia's wicket-keeper Matthew Wade gave his thoughts on the same.

“Australia and Australia A would be a bit of fun, I’m not sure how it would go down. The gap for those games is not huge, that series against New Zealand was only going to be for a couple of weeks. I’m not 100 per cent sure if that would happen, or if the players would like it or not," said Matthew Wade

“Absolutely. I remember the series,” he said when asked about the quadrangular tournament both teams featured in during the 1994-95 Aussie summer. "It stopped happening potentially because Australia liked an underdog so much, and I think people started supporting Australia A more than they did Australia. So you have to be careful what you wish for," he added.
