The 28-year-old all-rounder has been there with the team continuously during the last couple of white-ball bilateral clashes against England, and West Indies and the series against Zimbabwe concluded just before the Asia Cup. Axar Patel has delivered efficiently for the team in the last couple of months both with the bat and the ball.

He played a very remarkable role in India’s victory during the second of the three-match ODI series against West Indies. The young pacer has impressed with his outstanding performances in the last four T20 internationals he played for India. He recorded his best figures in the T20 internationals in the fifth of the five-match T20I series against West Indies at Lauderhill.

In this match, he scalped four wickets by conceding only 16 runs. Looking at his form and consistency, he has all the capabilities to replace Jadeja as a spinner in the playing XI against the arch-rivals Pakistan in the match of the super-four round of the Asia Cup 2022. Bishnoi can provide strength to the team with a spin-friendly wicket at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

He can provide good strength to the Indian batting line-up in the middle-order as he is currently in form and enjoying a purple patch with the bat. The skipper Rohit Sharma and team management might count on him as a replacement for senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in terms of batting in the playing XI against the men in green. He has also the capability to bowl some overs in the middle overs of the match.
