India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was spotted with the Dindigul Dragon side on the first day of the TNPL player auction 2023. The lead spinner in the national side has been doing fantastic in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In the first two games, he took a five-wicket haul in the first game and scored 30-odd runs in the second game at a crucial juncture.

The series is currently led by India by 2-0. With this, they have taken an unassailable lead in the four-match series. Meanwhile, a long gap was given for both teams between the second and the third game. During this phase, the Tamil Nadu Premier League organizers staged a mega auction for the 2023 season as per their schedule. During the first day of the event, Ashwin was seen with the Dindigul Dragons.

Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu player was retained ahead of the ongoing event. Notably, the league is witnessing a player auction for the first time in its history. Previously, all eight teams used to sign players via drafts. Meanwhile, all the teams were allowed to retain only two players for the upcoming season.

Dindigul, for whom Ashwin will play, was retained by the team. During the first day of the auction, they added the likes of Varun Chakravarthy, Baba Aparajith, etc
