Coming back to the catch, it was a very crucial moment for both teams if Virat had fallen outside the boundary line, it would be a clear defeat for the men in blue.

Speaking of the warm-up match, Australian skipper Aaron Finch won the flip of the coin and asked the men in blue to bat first. On the back of brilliant half-century knocks of 57 and 50 runs from KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav respectively, India managed to post a total of 186 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, Australian skipper Aaron Finch played an amazing knock of 76 runs off 56 balls with seven boundaries and three sixes to his name. But Shami’s fiery last over of four wickets including a run out of Ashton Agar restricted the Aussies to the score of 180 runs in all 20 overs. Shami scalped three wickets by conceding only four runs in the last over. Eventually, India registered a win of six runs in this practice match.

Skipper Rohit Sharma also heaped his praises on the senior pacer Mohammed Shami for his brilliance in the death overs.

“We need to improve at the death. We need to change lengths and tactics. Sometimes hitting the deck is a good option. Overall, it was a good game. It was a good pitch and their batting put pressure on us. Bowling Shami at the death was always the plan and you saw what he did,” said Rohit Sharma in a post-match conversation.
