Virat Kohli's decision to step down as India's Test captain has well and truly taken the world by storm. As shocking as his decision was, several popular celebrities and cricketers congratulated him on his successful stint as India's captain in the longest format of the game.

At the same time, several people took to social media to express their sadness over the news. However, Anand Mahindra paid a special tribute for the batting maestro. The billionaire spoke about Kohli's charismatic attitude, and went on to praise him.

"He’s been at the centre of controversies & this decision may evoke varied responses. But to me Virat embodies the fierce, unapologetic & unrelenting competitiveness & desire to win that we have always wanted to see in our sportspersons. May the Force be with him," read Anand Mahindra's Tweet.

Kohli is unarguably one of the biggest celebrities in India and endorses several brands. Pot his call to quit Test captaincy, several brands came forward to support his decision, confirming that his brand value won't be affected with his resignation.

 

PUMA, a brand which has been closely associated with Kohli since a really long time felt that he has left an "outstanding legacy behind him. They had inked a Rs 110 crore deal with the batter in 2017 for a period of eight years.

Audi India Head Balbir Singh Dhillon appreciated the 33-year-old, and stated that he is an ideal fit for the brand.

"He (Kohli) has been a part of the Audi India family for a long time and is clearly a great fit for the brand, as both exemplify brilliant innovation in their performance," said Dhillon.
