After losing their first 5 matches in IPL 2023, DC finally got their first win of the season and here is how fans reacted to it.

The 27th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday, April 20. DC finally opened their account by winnings the match by 4 wickets but they will look to continue their winning run from here.

Talking about the match, DC skipper David Warner won the toss and opted to bowl first and their decision proved right as they thrashed KKR’s middle order and restricted the visitors on the score of just 127 runs. KKR kept losing wickets at regular interval of time which didn’t allow Jason Roy, who was playing his first match of the season for KKR, to open his hands and bat with the intent.

DC bowlers didn’t let the batters to settle on the pitch as no other batter except Roy could provide anything to the scoreboard. KKR had to suffer a huge blow when Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Roy in the 15th over of the first innings for 43 runs off 39 balls which included 5 fours and 1 six. The two-time champions had many expectations from Andre Russel to help the to achieve a respectable total but he was failing to do it until the last over of Mukesh Kumar.

A brilliant all-round performance by DC

Russel smashed 3 back-to-back sixes to Mukesh and all three sixes went in the same direction. But still, didn't prove enough. For DC, Ishant Sharma, Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje, and Kuldeep Yadav picked up 2 wickets each. Chasing the target, skipper Warner gave DC a blistering start in the powerplay. On the other hand, Prithvi Shaw, once again, disappointed the fans as he departed after scoring only 13 runs.

Just when it seemed that DC would win this match easily, KKR got a huge breakthrough as Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Warner and brought KKR back into the match. Rana brilliantly used spinners and he even himself bowled his 4 overs and took 2 wickets as well. But in the last over, Kulwant Khejroliya couldn't defend 7 runs and DC somehow manage to chase the target.
