On 31 March 2023, the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League will begin. The first match will be between Gujarat and Chennai in Ahmedabad. So, all captains of the team gathered in Ahmedabad for a photo shoot with the Indian T20 League trophy. MS Dhoni, Faf du Plessis, Hardik Pandya, Nitish Rana, Shikhar Dhawan, Sanju Samson, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, David Warner, and KL Rahul were present.

Surprisingly, Rohit Sharma was not present. However, now an image has gone viral where Dhoni was seen talking with Samson, Pandya, and Du Plessis. Seeing that image, fans went crazy and shared their views. It seemed that the Chennai skipper might be sharing some tips based on his captaincy experience at the top level all over these years. MS Dhoni has led Chennai to four Indian T20 Leagues so far.

Not only for this franchise, but he was a top-notch skipper for the Men in Blue also. Dhoni won the 20-20 World Cup in 2007, 50-over World Cup in 2011, and the Champions Trophy in 2013. He even led the team to the top during his tenure in the red ball format of the game. Hence, MS Dhoni has always impressed his fans with his majestic captaincy. Now, this year also, Chennai fans will hope for another top season as the skipper from Dhoni.
However, some reports came out on the eve of the opening game of the tournament. Reports suggested that MS Dhoni might miss the game as he has been feeling some discomfort in his left knee. He even felt discomfort while batting during the intra-squad game. The former team India skipper was seen limping off to the crease and wearing a kneecap also. But, the CEO of the Chennai franchise, Kasi Viswanathan dismissed such reports as he said: "As far as I am concerned, the skipper is 100 percent playing. I don't know about any other development."
