Worcestershire and Sussex clashed against each other in the County Championship Division Two match that was started on May 4 at the New Road in Worcester. Sussex skipper and Indian veteran Test cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara won the toss and opted to bowl first. They bundled out the Brett Doliveira-led side on 264 runs with a brilliant bowling display by Ollie Robinson, who took 7 wickets in the first innings.

Meanwhile, during the second innings of Worcs, their middle order batter Azhar Ali smashed a dead ball towards the boundary rope. Talking about the whole incident, Henry Crocombe was brought to bowl the 86th over of the innings. Crocombe delivered the third ball of the over, which was hit for a boundary, but the ball didn't leave his hand in time. It landed directly in front of his feet and rolled across the ground, just missing Ali.

Ali didn't want to pass up this gift after engaging in multiple testing spells by Robinson & Co. for more than five hours. To everyone's amusement, he sprung out of his crease, patiently awaited the ball's arrival, and then slammed it into the cover area. Many fans reacted to this and said that Ali doesn’t have sportsmanship, while many said that he was desperate to get his hundred as he was playing on 91, however, he apologised to the bowler and the umpires after hitting that shot.

Pujara continued his brilliant form

The match ended up in a draw, however, talking about Pujara, he smashed a brilliant century in the first innings and helped the team to get a massive lead. The right-hander scored 136 off 189 balls, which included 19 fours and 1 six. It's a great sign for the Indian Team as Pujara's form will play a major role for the team in the Test Championship final, which is set to take place on June 7 this year.

Interestingly, Pujara was seen playing with former Australia captain Steve Smith and also stitched a 61-run stand for the 4th wicket. They both will be against each other soon and playing together will certainly help them to know about each other's weaknesses and specialities.
