Pakistan Test opener Abid Ali was rushed to the hospital after complaining about severe chest pain while playing for Central Punjab against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. The batter is being attended by the doctors and has undergone multiple tests and scans. A further update on his health is expected soon.

Abid had a decent game and scored 49 runs in the second innings as Central Punjab defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 371 runs. Abid Ali has been in sizzling form in the current season of the championship and is the leading run scorer for Central Punjab, scoring 766 runs in 6 games at an average of 51, including three hundreds. Meanwhile, Central Punjab are placed fourth on the points table, winning two, losing two and drawing five of their 10 Tests.

Abid made a remarkable start to his Test career and has scored 1180 runs in 16 Tests for Pakistan so far. He has scored four hundreds in his short career. In Pakistan's recent Test series against Bangladesh, Abid was Pakistan's highest run-scorer and scored 263 runs in 2 games at an average of 87.67, including a staggering century in the first Test.

Meanwhile, Pakistan doesn't have any international cricket lined up for next three months and the team will be hoping that Abid recovers completely before their next assignment, which is against Australia in March. The teams will cross swords in three Tests, as many ODIs and one T20I.
