He scored only 18 runs in the match in two innings. But, on the same day, the Indian Cricket Board announced the squad for the remaining two Tests also. Fans were left shocked as KL Rahul manages to get a place in that squad. However, he got removed as the vice-captain of the side.

KL Rahul has scored 95 runs in the last four Tests, at an average of 13.57

As per recent reports by the Indian Express, KL Rahul is no longer the Vice Captain of the Indian Test team. Rohit Sharma will decide on the new Vice Captain soon. The star batter has been in terrible form for India, especially in the red-ball format. After a poor Test series in Bangladesh, fans were expecting a better show from him in this ongoing series against the Aussies. But, as of now, he has scored just 38 runs in three innings in this ongoing series.

But, after the Delhi Test, both skipper Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid said that they will back the star batter despite his poor run of form. Rohit said: said: “Of late there has been lot of talk about his (KL Rahul) batting. For us as the management, we look at the potential of any individual, not just KL, and players with potential will get extended run. Batting at Lord’s on a damp wicket, it was one of the best hundreds I have seen, Centurion also, so he has potential and we are backing him."

Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid said: “KL Rahul has been one of our most successful overseas openers. He’s got hundred in South Africa, England and we’ll continue to back him. I believe he has the quality and class to come out of this phase." So, fans came up with their views and claimed that still it might be difficult to see him out of the playing XI despite removing him from the vice-captaincy post.
