'A dream start' - Twitter hail Yash Dhull for achieving historic feat on Ranji debut

Yash Dhull went on to score centuries in each innings on Ranji Trophy debut, and became the third player to do so

The last few weeks have been nothing short of sensational for Yash Dhull. Earlier this month, he led India to their fifth U19 World Cup title. Thus, he instantly managed to grab the headlines. Post which, he bagged an Indian T20 league contract as well.

It was Delhi that managed to buy him for INR 50 lakh during the mega auction. After which, he made his Ranji Trophy debut in the Elite Group H match for Delhi vs Tamil Nadu in Guwahati. He announced himself to India's premier domestic tournament in some style, as he went on to score a hundred.

However, on Sunday, the right-handed batter inscribed his name into the record books as he went on to score centuries in each innings on Ranji Trophy debut, and became the third player to do so. Nari Contractor and Virag Awate of Maharashtra were the other two players to do so.

After being asked to bat first, Delhi lost their first two wickets within four overs. However, Dhull showed immense maturity, and got to an amazing 113 in the first innings. This knock included 18 boundaries. Lalit Yadav scored a brilliant 177 as well.

After which, Tamil Nadu got to 494 and thus, got the lead. During the third innings, Dhull once again played a superb innings as he scored another hundred. As a matter of fact, he once again scored 113. He alongside Dhruv Shorey put together a 228-run partnership.

At the end, the match turned out to be a draw. However, Twitter showered praises for the 19-year-old. Several fans were mighty impressed with his temperament. Thus, it is safe to say that the batter has a bright future ahead of him.
