Over the years, we have seen the Indian team making improvements by leaps and bounds, and, today, it is counted among the most formidable teams in the world. A lot of credit for that should be given to the Indian T20 League. Every year, a lot of new talented players showcase their talent and some of them also go on to represent the Indian Cricket Team.

A lot of young Indian players have been making headlines with stellar performances in IPL and at the international level. In this article, we take a look at five of those Indian cricketers, who are likely to rule Indian cricket in the next 10 years.

There is no denying the fact that Rishabh Pant is one of the most talented players in the Indian Cricket, presently. Pant came into the reckoning in the 2016 Under-19 World Cup. He was later drafted into the Delhi team in the Indian T20 League.

Currently, he is leading the Delhi franchise in the cash League. At just 24 years of age, Pant has played 30 Tests, 24 ODIs, and 43 T20 internationals for his country. He has an outstanding record in Test Cricket. Pant has managed to score 1920 runs in 30 Tests at an average of 40.85.

2.  Ravi Bishnoi

Young Indian spinner, Ravi Bishnoi rose to fame with his outstanding performances in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup. He lit up the tournament with aggressive spin bowling display and finished the tournament as the highest wicket-taker. In 6 matches, he picked 17 wickets at an average of 10.65.

He then showcased his spin exploits for Punjab Kings for two consecutive seasons in the Indian T20 League. He managed to deceive the batsmen with his googly on a number of occasions. He doesn’t give a lot of time to the batters to react which troubles them. Bishnoi picked 24 wickets in the last two seasons and gave runs at less than 8 an over. Bishnoi has played 4 T20 internationals for India so far but is likely to play a lot more in the coming years.

  1. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer is another talented cricketer, who deserves a mention in the list. Iyer too has been in the mix, as far as India’s national team is concerned. Consistent performances with the bat have helped him seal his place in India’s Test Team.

In his very first Test match, he scored a century and a half-century. As of now, he has represented the Indian Cricket Team in 4 Tests, 26 ODIs, and 36 Tests. He is currently leading the Kolkata franchise in the Indian T20 League. Given how he is performing with the bat, he is likely to rule the Indian Cricket for the next 10 years.

  1. Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan is a 25-year-old Indian fast bowler, who currently plies his trade with Lucknow in the Indian T20 League. He showcased his bowling prowess last year while playing for Delhi in the cash-rich league. Khan finished the season as the second-highest wicket-taker, picking 24 wickets in 16 matches.

In the ongoing edition of the Indian T20 League, Khan has been doing a pretty good job for Lucknow as well. He is currently the highest wicket-taker for the team, picking 11 wickets in 7 matches. Given how he is performing in the cash-rich tournament and other domestic tournaments, it’s just a matter of time before he becomes a mainstay in the Indian Cricket Team.

  1. Prithvi Shaw

In the year 2018, Prithvi Shaw slammed a hundred on his Test debut against the West Indies in Rajkot. However, injuries and increased competition for places didn’t help him become a mainstay in the Indian team.

Shaw has played only 5 Tests and 6 ODIs, since, but has been making headlines consistently through his performances in the Indian T20 League. He is just 22 years old and is, definitely, one for the future.
