The players participating in the tournament went under the hammer of the auction just a few weeks back last year.  With said that, here we’ll have a look at the players in SA20 League who will be getting more salary than the one they are earning in the cash-rich Indian T20 tournament.

The young Proteas wicketkeeper-batter has played only 13 T20Is in his international career since his debut against India in Delhi T20I in the month of June last year. After batting in the nine innings of 13 matches, Stubbs has scored 173 runs with one half-century of 72 runs to his name.

The 22-year-old ended up being the most expensive bid during the auction of the SAT20 2023. Sunrisers Eastern bought him a massive amount of 9.2 million Rands (INR 4.41 crores). But speaking of his price in the Indian T20 League, the keeper-batter went unsold during the auction of the 2022 edition, and subsequently, he was taken by Mumbai as a replacement only in an amount of INR 20 Lakh. Later on, the five-time champions Mumbai picked him in the same amount.

The Pretoria-born youngster is yet to make his first international appearance for South Africa. But till now, he has impressed a lot with batting heroics in T20 cricket. The 24-year-old has smashed 539 runs in 21 innings of the 26 matches he played so far with an average of 41.46 including two half-centuries on his credit.

During the auction of the SA20, it was Johannesburg Super Kings that went completely for Ferreira and picked him for a  huge amount of 5.5 million Rands (INR 2.64 crore). Later on, the Rajasthan franchise of the Indian T20 League bought the young wicketkeeper-batter in an amount of INR 50 Lakh only, which was very less than the one he got in the SA20.

The Jamaican all-rounder appeared for the first time in the Indian T20 League while playing for the Punjab franchise. He was also one of the highlights during the auction for the first-ever edition of the SA20. MI Cape Town went on buy Odean Smith in the amount of 1.7 million Rands (INR 81.54 lakhs).

Talking about his earnings in the Indian T20 league, smith had quite a bit big contract back in the 15th edition of the tournament (2022). But later, he was bought by Gujarat only at his base price of INR 50 Lakh during the mini-auction for the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League.

The Durban-based South African bowling prodigy has proved his worth numerous times in international cricket with his fierce and lethal bowling. He was in the eyes of participating teams during the auction for SA20 2023. Eventually, Paarl Royals locked the deal with 3.4 million Rands (INR 1.63 crores) to acquire the services of the 29-year-old

But it didn’t look like the teams in Indian T20 League were very keen to have Ngidi in their squad. Although Delhi bought him only in an amount of INR 50 Lakhs. There was a difference of INR 1.13 crores in Ngidi’s salary for SA20 2023 in comparison to the one he got in the Indian T20 League.
