Cricket has been revolutionized in the last decade with the inception of a lot of tournaments in the quickest format of the game. Abu Dhabi T10 League is just one of those tournaments in the shortest format which has emerged as a popular demanding arena for all the veteran cricketers across the world.

Not only the current cricketers, but the retired legends have also participated in this famous franchise-based tournament. So, here we’ll have a look at five Indian cricketers who once played in this tournament but their participation is not known to many Indian Cricket Fans.

Virender Sehwag

Former legendary Indian opener Virender Sehwag entertained a million fans during his international career for the Indian team. He was the first Indian cricketer to play in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. He appeared in two matches for Maratha Arabians in the first season of the tournament.

Although, the veteran cricketer couldn’t score runs for his team in the tournament. Recently, he is active as a commentator in international cricket for different cricket broadcasting channels.

Abu Dhabi T10 League

The Chennai-based former Indian batter had also appeared in this tournament. He played for Maratha Arabians four years back in 2018. The right-hander couldn’t get a chance to bat for his team in the tournament and he ended up doing only fielding for the Marathas in the tournament.

Badrinath didn’t play that much international cricket for the Indian team. He appeared in only two Tests, seven ODIs, and only a T20I match for India in his international career. He played his last international match against West Indies in 2011 during a T20 international match.

Reetinder Singh Sodhi

The former all-rounder of India, Reetinder Singh Sodhi made his first international appearance for India 22 years back in 2000. He could play only 18 ODIs in his international career for the Indian team. Later on, he went on play in the Abu Dhabi T10 Cricket League.

Kerala Knights signed RS Sodhi four years back in 2018. He played three matches for the Knights but couldn’t do anything both with the bat and the ball while playing in the tournament.

The speedster from Meerut made it to the team India confirmed his spot in the team with some of his heroic performances with the ball and sometimes with quick cameos with the bat. Praveen Kumar is famously known for his contributions to the Indian team in the finals of the Commonwealth Bank Series 2008 against Australia. India registered a historic win in that series after defeating the mighty Australians.

After disappearing from the international circuit for a time being, he came back again in franchise cricket. Punjabi Legends signed him during the Abu Dhabi T10 League four years back in the year 2018. He scalped six wickets in the three matches for his team in the tournament.

RP Singh

One more Indian name who participated in this tournament is Rudra Pratap Singh. The Rae Bareli-born speedster was a star of India’s winning campaign 15 years back in the 2007 T20 World Cup. He made his last appearance in international cricket during the ODI match against England at Cardiff 11 years back in 2011.

After hanging boots in international cricket, RP Singh made his way to the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Pakhtoons signed the former pacer in 2018. He scalped three wickets in five matches he played for the team in the tournament.

Apart from the above five Indians, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan have also participated in the Abu Dhabi T10 League in the last season.
