Speaking of the match between India and South Africa, Suryakumar Yadav was the only batter for India who played a struggling and well-fought knock of 68 runs off just 40 balls with six boundaries and four maximums to his name. Other than him, none of the Indian batters could cross the mark of 20 runs. Lungi Ngidi, who replaced Tabraiz Shamsi in the playing XI against India, impressed everyone with his stunning bowling performance with four wickets by conceding 29 runs in his quota of four overs.
While chasing the target, the Proteas easily touched the finishing line after a bit of struggle in the beginning. David Miller and Aiden Markram’s knocks of 59 and 52 runs helped their team to chase down the target in 19.4 overs to win the match by five wickets.
It is also the first loss for the Indian team in the tournament following their two successive wins in against Pakistan and Netherlands respectively.
