The 23-year-old young pacer has not that long a T20I career to his name for the Indian team. He has proved his worth for the team in the last couple of T20I assignments with a few stellar performances. Notably, Arshdeep Singh is only the second Indian bowler to bowl the first over of his career as a maiden.

He has featured in 11 T20 internationals for team India and scalped 14 wickets with the best figure of three wickets by conceding 12 runs. Arshdeep has bowled with an economy rate of 7.38 runs per over. Just having an experience of only T20 internationals, it is a big thing for Arshdeep to get selected in the squad for the T20 World Cup 2022.

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant

Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is enduring a poor run of form with the bat for the last couple of matches. He disappointed the skipper and management with his outings in the recently-concluded Asia Cup 2022. Indian management gave him chances in the last couple of matches in Asia by excluding senior wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik from the playing XI.

Although, the selectors decided to give him another chance while they were selecting the squad for the World Cup 2022. After continuing with poor form in a major international tournament, it is quite strange that selectors found him eligible to be fit in the squad for the World Cup squad.

Star all-rounder delivered a match-defining all-round performance against Pakistan in the first match of the Asia Cup 2022. But after that match, he couldn’t impress the experts and fans with his performances in the next few matches of the tournament. The 28-year-old failed to go up to the expectations of the team management both with the bat and the ball.

So, picking him also looks like a gamble played by the selectors in the team for the T20 World Cup 2022. After being selected in the squad, it can be said that he has secured his berth in the team of his big name and fame.

The Rohtak-born explosive batter was not that much impressed with the bat in the recently-concluded Asia Cup 2022. He got a chance to feature in three matches of the Asia Cup including and could register the scores of only 16, and 3 runs along with a wicket in the last super-4 match against Afghanistan.

But the selectors may have considered his couple of last performances in the T20 internationals for team India, selectors happened to give him another chance in the squad for the eighth edition of the T20 World Cup.

Harshal Patel

Gujarat-born has appeared last time in a T20 international for India during the last of the three-match ODI series against England. In this match, he scalped two wickets by conceding 35 runs. This match was played on the 10th of July 2022.

Since then, Harshal is continuously out of the team due to injury issues and he will be making a comeback after a long time. Other than this, he has only a T20I series against Australia and South Africa ahead of the T20 World Cup.
