The recently concluded mega auction for the fifteenth edition of Indian T20 league was an absolute success. It saw several world-class players go under the hammer. A few individuals ended up earning a fortune as well. However, there are some players who got bids from almost all the teams. Today, we shall be taking a look at 12 players who got bids from most teams in the mega auction

1) R Sai Kishore- 6 teams

R Sai Kishore is one of the best spinners in the domestic circuit. Besides, he's a left-armer. Thus, as many as six teams engaged in a bidding battle for him. While Rajasthan, Delhi, Chennai, Punjab and Hyderabad bid for him, it was Gujarat that got him for INR 3 crore.

2) Deepak Hooda- 6 teams

Getting an aggressive Indian middle-order batter who can bowl as well is really rare. Thus, several franchises had their eye on Deepak Hooda. Besides, he has been in superb form of late. His former franchises like Hyderabad and Rajasthan were among the teams bidding for him, even Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai tried their luck but to no avail. At the end, it was Lucknow who acquired his services for INR 5.75 crore.

3) Tim David- 5 teams

Tim David has been in superb form of late. After lightning up the Big Bash League, he has been hitting sixes for fun in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) as well. Thus, teams like Delhi, Punjab, Kolkata, Rajasthan showed interest in him. However, as Mumbai were saving their purse for him, they were able to go all out for David and thus, acquired him for INR 8.25 crore.

4) Romario Shephard- 5 teams

The hard-hitting all-rounder was one of the most sought-after names in the mega auction. Despite not being experienced, he has already shown glimpses of his immense potential. After having a base price of INR 75 lakh, teams such as Lucknow, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Rajasthan started bidding for him. It was the Williamson-led side that emerged victorious, and got Shephard for INR 7.75 crore.

5) Liam Livingstone- 5 teams

Liam Livingstone is currently one of the best middle-order batters in the shortest format of the game. Besides, he can prove to be a handy spinner as well. Thus, Kolkata, Punjab, Chennai, Gujarat and Hyderabad went all out for him. However, as Punjab had the highest purse, only they could afford him and thus, got him for INR 11.5 crore. This made him the most expensive overseas player in this auction as well.

6) Avesh Khan- 5 teams

Avesh Khan was the second-highest wicket-taker in the previous edition in 2021. He has been one of the fastest Indian bowlers in the toughest 20 league as well. This prompted the likes of Chennai, Lucknow, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad to engage in a massive bidding war for him. However, it was the Rahul-led side that purchased him a whopping amount of INR 10 crore.

7) Shivam Mavi- 5 teams

Shivam Mavi has the ability to generate the extra pace. Besides with age on his side, he can go on to be a long-term option. Thus, as many as five teams wanted to get him, them being Kolkata, Bangalore, Punjab, Gujarat and Lucknow. However, in what turned out to be a fitting homecoming, the two-time champions bought him back for INR 7.25 crore.

8) Rahul Chahar- 5 teams

Taking his talent into account, Rahul Chahar is a superb bowler. So far, he has picked 43 wickets in 41 games. Thus, every team wanted a young leggie like him, in whom they can invest upon. Teams like Hyderabad, Delhi, Punjab, Chennai and Mumbai engaged in a bidding duel for him. After some tough resistance, Punjab bought the leg-spinner for INR 5.25 crore.

9) Josh Hazlewood- 5 teams

Josh Hazlewood is unarguably the most improved T20 bowler. From being considered a red-ball specialist to playing an influential role in Australia's T20 World Cup-winning campaign, the pacer has come a long way. Thus, five teams showed interest in him. After a bidding war that involved Chennai, Delhi, Lucknow, Bangalore and Mumbai, it was Bangalore that purchased him for INR 7.75 crore. Thus, a lot will be expected from him this time around.

 

10) Krunal Pandya- 5 teams

Over the years, Krunal Pandya has been an integral part of Mumbai. Not only can he bowl the economical overs, but he can also hit the big shots. Thus, several teams like Punjab, Chennai, Gujarat and Lucknow bid for him. However, it was Lucknow who got him for INR 8.25 crore.

11) Washington Sundar- 5 teams

Washington Sundar is one of the most improved all-rounders in India. Over the years, he has gone on to become a complete package. Thus, he was on the radar of several teams. Franchises like Gujarat, Punjab, Delhi, Hyderabad and Lucknow tried their best to get him. However, it was the orange army that managed to buy him for INR 8.75 Crore. Sundar has taken 27 wickets in the 42 matches at an economy rate of 6.94.

12) Shreyas Iyer- 5 teams

Shreyas Iyer was the blue-eyed boy ahead of the mega auction. As several teams needed a captain, he was on the wish-list of a lot of franchises. Thus, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Lucknow and Gujarat engaged in a bidding war for him. At the end, Kolkata managed to acquire his services for INR 12.25 crore. They have also named him as the new skipper of the franchise.
