The men in blue will face the Bangla tigers in the ODI series and then both teams will lock horns in the two-match Test series. Notably, few players in have made their comeback in the squad since India’s last red-ball assignment against England earlier in the month of July this year.

On the other hand, there were also the players who couldn’t make a cut to the squad or the selectors who happened to ignore them while picking up the squad for the Bangladesh Test series.

So, here we'll have a look at three players who were quite a bit unlucky to miss out to make a cut to the Indian side for the Test series against Bangladesh.

The 34-year-old senior batter is currently in action during the ongoing 2022 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He is playing in the tournament in the role of captain for Mumbai. Rahane-led Mumbai is all set to appear in the knockout round in the fourth quarter-final against Saurashtra.

Speaking of Rahane’s role in the longest format of the game, he has a lot of experience to his name. The right-hander has delivered a lot of crucial knocks for the Indian team in the past. Ignoring him is not being seen as a good decision by the Indian selectors.

Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan

The Mumbai-based young batting sensation Sarfaraz Khan is continuously stunning and impressing everyone with the form of his life in first-class cricket. While playing for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy and other first-class assignments, Sarfaraz has always proved his worth for the team at crucial moments.

Speaking of his celebrated first-class career, the 25-year-old has smashed 2928 runs with an outstanding average of 81.33 in just 43 innings of 29 first-class matches he played so far. Sarfaraz has also scored 10 centuries and eight half-centuries in his first-class career.

But still, the Indian selectors went on overlook this guy and this decision also didn’t go down well with some of the Indian cricket fans as they are very unhappy with this call of Indian selectors.

Hanuma Vihari

The exclusion of Hanuma Vihari is also quite a bit of shocking for cricket fans and experts as he was a part of the Indian side that played a one-off Test match against England in July. Although, his performances during that Test match were not that much impressive. But still, there were the assumptions that the selectors may count on his skills in the longest format of the game. But unfortunately, things didn’t fall in place.

Another reason for ignoring is also the presence of big names in the middle order including former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and last year’s debutant Shreyas Iyer. While talking on Vihari, the chairman of the selection committee, Chetan Sharma said that the former does not fit in India’s combination for Bangladesh.
